HINTS and TIPS:
User: 8CT
Hint: Speeded up Graphical Gears & Space Planets animations (issue 11)
Text: Add a line that *SAVEs the picture after drawing, then for later
loadings delete the draw routine and add a line that *LOADs the
picture into screen memory. This way you do not have to wait
for the picture to draw every time you run it. Users of TOOLKIT
PLUS can issue the command *SCREEN which will save the current
screen to disc.
User: 8CT
Hint: Concept car graphics
Text: Try changing line 20 to *LOAD S.CONCEPT 3000
User: YJ2
Hint: *PRINTER command
Text: The printer command *PRINTER (on a recent issue disc) and is
used to "reset" your printer to iy's default state. It might
not work with every printer but epson compatibles should not
present problems. Ideally your !boot file to load your word
processor should contain the *PRINTER command thus enabling you
to issue the command *PRINTER from your word processor whenever
you would like your printer reset.

In case any of you were wondering, YES the G.DESERT file on the issue
11 disc was not documented as I forgot to put it onto the menu. The
file itself is a rather attractive picture of a desert.

Imogen screens can be done in a any order
The CAT is useful for jumping high or wide gaps
The Monkey is useful for climbing and jumping off ropes
The Wizard is useful for using/throwing objects.
This month I will take you through the screen named "dripping-stuff".
Each screen name contains a hint, this one meaning that you are to use
the dripping stuff.
From your staring position, walk left onto the next screen. Become
the Monkey, climb the rope and jump right to collect the bottle. Go
left to the bottom of the screen, walk right to underneath the leaky
bucket, become Wizard, take out the bottle and catch a drop of the
liquid. Walk right off the screen to underneath the plant, and drop
the liquid at the base of it. Go back, collect more liquid, drop it
at the plant again, and then once more - 3 times in all - and the
plant should have grown to it's full height.
Become Monkey, climb up, walk right and fall off the ledge on the next
screen. Go to underneath the leaky bottle, collect some liquid, and
walk left all the way to the screen with the dog on it. Become
monkey, climb the rope, walk left to near the dog, become wizard, drop
liquid into the dog'g bowl. The dog should now die. Jump over him,
walk left to the rope, become monkey, climb rope, get potion, become
wizard and use potion. That is the end of the screen. Another soon.
If you are really lazy, and would like to see the end of the game,
then write to the address below enclosing a blank 5.25 80 track
formatted disc and RETURN POSTAGE. I will return the saved position
which you should just load up then press <return>.

* AIRWOLF Solution & Hints
HINTS: Always go slowly round the caverns - trouble is usually around
the corner. You have 4 main shields - the loss of one being indicated
by a BELL type noise. In each main shield, the are 8 minor shields,
the loss of one being indicated by a low pitched DRUM type noise.
Holding down a cursor key will pause the game. Holding down a cursor
key and pressing a "nudge" button will cause 1 "frame" of movement -
useful for manovering in tight spaces.
Mission 1
From your start position, fly left (avoiding the bouncing ball) and
shoot accurately the switch in the middle of the MUSHROOM shaped
object to stop the object and open the door. Fly to the opened door,
hold down SCROLL LEFT and shoot a fairly large hole in the wall on the
left. Release the scroll left key (and wait until it is safe to do
so), fly down the third passage, go left at the bottom, then down the
small gap (this is only possible when the helicoptor is facing you),
line the scientist with the middle of the bottom of the helicoptor,
and fall on top of him. You have now rescued the first scientist, and
you should now return to base.
To do this fly upwards, then left towards the wall. Destroy the whole
wall, and when the IRON GIRDER leaves from the bottom, fly up behind
it. At the top, fly left slightly and wait for the girder to go down.
When it does, quickly fly left and up. Shoot a large hole in the
wall, and wait for the BOUNCING ALIENS to get out of the way, and then
fly through the small cavern to the hole you shot earlier. Press
SCROLL RIGHT, and wait until it is safe to fly right, then go and wait
in-between the two falling rocks. Wait until it is safe to go, then
do so. Repeat this procedure to fly to the start position. Let the
helicoptor drop down on the pad. Mission one is now complete.
Mission 2
Follow the IRON GIRDER to the top of it's path, then fly left into the
large cavern as described in mission 1. Locate a button in the bottom
left of the cavern - shoot it. Locate the MUSHROOM and shoot the
button in the middle of it. Fly up and left slightly. Press SCROLL
DOWN here and you should see the SCIENTIST. Rescue him and return to
base as described in mission 1. Mission 2 now complete.
Mission 3 and 4 next month ...
