Friday 13 August
I was recently in my local computer
shop 'The Computer Place' and was
suprised to find some old BBC guides
next to their A3010 computer. After I
said I was interested in buying, I was
told that that wasn't all of them and
the man disappeared into the back room
returning with a couple of piles of BBC
related books. Anyway I bought them
all but found when I got home that
there were several copies of some of
the books and a few others were of
little interest to me. As a result I am
able to sell these at low prices. This
is partly due to my being a generous
chap but mostly so that I can spend the
money on manuals that I need. Other
members may find it worthwhile to check
out their local dealers (assuming
they've been around a few years) to see
whether they have a stockpile of old
manuals.
All prices are fully inclusive of
postage.
BBC Micro User Guide - 3 copies.
Original edition 1982 518 pages
Supplied with Model A & B computers
written by the BBC.
Includes Addendum & Errata sheets.
Not in brilliant conditon but at least
the bindings are okay.
£3 (each)
BBC Micro User Guide - 1 copy
Updated edition 1984 512 pages.
This is similar to the original edition
but has been edited and updated by
Acorn (I am unsure as to whether this
is a selling point) and was supplied
along with the B+ computer. Includes
Errata sheet. In much better condition
than the above hence the higher price.
£5
#####
The 6502 Second Processor User Guide -
1 copy. 1984 49 pages.
Describes the memory map on the second
processor:
The Hi-Basic rom and the differences
between the DNFS and the standalone DFS
and NFS roms. Frankly though I don't
think it would be of much use to a
Master turbo owner. In very good
condition.
£1
######
Acorn Electron Plus One Guide - 1 copy
1984 22 pages.
A thin volume but does decribe the plus
one quite well includes stuff on
cartridges, printers and the pin usage
on the analouge socket. Also has
details on the addional FX/Osbyte
commands provided by the plus one rom.
(most of which are concerned with the
expansions of course) In very good
condition.
£1
#####
Disc Filing System : Manual for BBC
Micro.
1 copy. Fifth Editon. 1988 115 pages.
Originally Supplied with the Watford
DFS upgrade. Does note which features
are specific to the Watford DFS and
includes quite advanced info on the
disc format/low level commands for
accessingthe DFS. In very good
condition.
£2
#####
View guide & Into View :A 2 book set
(3 sets)
52 pages / 70 pages 1984
The View guide is the reference manual
of the set and details the functions of
the various erm, function keys and then
moves onto rulers, embedded commands,
page layouts, macros, highlights
registers, editing BASIC programs etc.
Into View : More of a tutorial compared
with the View guide, intended to gently
initiate the user into the pleasures of
using View and re-educate them out of
any bad habits they may have learned
while using inferior products such as
Wordwise.
(DON'T BELIEVE HIM. WW IS INFERIOR TO
NOTHING, but IF YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER
THAN VIEW, IT is USABLE, AND THESE
BOOKS WOULD BE A GOOD BUY. ED.)
Both are intended for View 2.1 but I
will enclose a sheet detailing the
differences between 3 and 2.1 All are
in very good condition.
£2 (per set)
#####
Well thats the lot for now, although I
do have a few other manuals to
specific pieces of software, and hope
that I can get the shop to actually
find the associated discs and roms.
