A simple Data Base By Andrew York In 1996 For Model B and Master.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
After reading about file handling for about half an hour, I decided
to have a go myself. This is when I came up with a very simple data
base, which should be on this disc saved a 'DBase'.
The program allows you to create a file containing names, addresses,
telephone numbers and post codes of up to 3150 people! Once you have
created a file the program lets you update it with more details. Also
the program lets you display a whole file, display details on a
certain person, and print a file.
Getting It To Work
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The program is made for model B and master, but Im afraid it will not
work on model A because of the use of the command OPENUP. If you
really want the program to work on model A you should replace the
command OPENUP to OPENIN. It should then work on model A (hopefully!).
The Idiots Guide

Creating A New File
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
To create a new file simply enter '1' from the menu. You will then be
asked for a file name. Enter a file name and then press return. Then
the disc drive will whirl, and the screen will clear. You then can
start entering the persons name, address, telephone number and then
postcode. Once you have done this you will be asked for another
persons name, address etc. When you have finished entering all your
details press Escape. Note that you can only press Escape when you are
at the Name prompt. When you press Escape the program will close and
you will be returned to the main menu.
Updating a file
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
To update a file enter '2' from the main menu and then enter a file to
update. Updating a file is very easy and to return to the menu after
updating press Escape.
Displaying A file
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
To display a file choose '3' from the menu and then enter a file name.
You will then be asked if you want to display the whole file. If you
enter 'Y' or 'y', for yes the whole file will be displayed. Use Shift
to scroll and press Escape to return to the menu.
If you choose not to display the whole file you will be asked for a
persons name. After you have entered a name the program will search
through the file until it finds it, and then the persons details will
be displayed. Im afraid you can only search on a persons name.
Printing a file
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Once you have entered '4' from the menu you will then be asked for a
file to print. Once you have entered a file the printer will be
switched on and the whole file will be printed.
Anything Else!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The last option at the menu is entering a star command, such as *.0,
*HELP, *TAPE, *BASIC.

* This program is not perfect, but Im sure someone will find it very *
* useful. *
